Read All About It!
This candy bar is an all-American icon with deep roots that are near and dear to Western PA!
The Clark Bar is a candy bar consisting of a crispy peanut butter/spun taffy core, originally with a caramel center, and coated in milk chocolate. It was the first American “combination” candy bar to achieve nationwide success. The Clark Bar was introduced in 1917 by David L. Clark and was popular during and after both World Wars. It was manufactured in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, by the original family-owned business until 1955. Over the years, the candy bar had many different homes with a few different companies. The world is extremely happy that Boyer Candy, out of Altoona, PA, recently took over the rights to the infamous Clark Bar and returned it to it’s original recipe!!!
