How long has Basket of Pittsburgh been in business?
The business was founded by Jan Jones in 1984. We have a been a Pittsburgh tradition for a very long time. We support local Pittsburgh companies and offer full size products in our gift baskets.
Can I create a custom basket?
Yes, we are happy to customize your order; however, this cannot be done online yet. Please contact us by phone at 412-221-4406 or e-mail us at email@example.com or text at 412-508-0199.
Can I send a basket for a specific future date?
We understand that with gifts, timing is everything!
When checking out, you can pick the date that you would like the gift to arrive. We will calculate shipping times so that your gift will arrive as requested! You can order up to 8 months in advance! Now, that is being organized. You will get a shipping notification when your gift is on it’s way to the lucky recipient.
Who do you use for shipping out of the local area?
Basket of Pittsburgh currently uses UPS to ship gifts outside of our local delivery area.
UPS Ground is the most affordable option; however, if speed is necessary, there are other options like 2 Day Air, 3 Day Select or Overnight Express. The rates will reflect accordingly. See map link.
When you check out, please enter the date in the box for the Estimated Delivery/Arrival Date.
You can see the UPS transit time link below so you choose the appropriate shipping options.

Besides UPS, what are my other options for delivery?
Pick-Up – You are more than welcome to stop by our office to pick up your gift during normal business hours. Please call to make arranements. If those hours are not convenient, we will make special arrangements to accommodate. If you need it the same day, we will try to accommodate. Our office/warehouse is located in the Robinson Township area. The address is 210 Bilmar Drive, Pittsburgh, PA 15205 and is just off the Crafton exit on Route 79. We share a building with Wojanis Supply and you will find us at the side entrance which faces Don’s Appliances.
Same Day Delivery – When timing is tight, orders can be delivered on the same day if received by 10:00am. Choose the ‘Same Day Delivery’ option at check-out. Same Day Delivery is an extra fee and available Monday through Friday. If you would like a weekend delivery, please call the office to make special arrangements.
Local delivery – It is always nice to receive a gift from a smiling face! Orders placed today can be hand delivered as early as today or tomorrow. You can see our local delivery fee schedule on the Delivery/ Shipping page. Then, choose the ‘Local Delivery by BOP’ option at check-out. Local Delivery is available Monday through Friday. If you would like a weekend delivery, please call the office to make special arrangements.
Hospital Deliveries – Allegheny General, Canonsburg Hospital, Sewickley Hospital, Mercy Hospital, Montefiore Hospital. Ohio Valley Hospital, Passavant Hospital, Presbyterian Hospital, Shady Side Hospital, St Clair Hospital, St Margaret Hospital, UPMC Children’s Hospital, West Penn Hospital.
University Deliveries – University of Pittsburgh, Duquesne University, Chatham University, Carlow University, Carnegie Mellon University (CMU), Point Park University, Children’s Hospital.
Weekend Delivery – Please call our office at 412-221-4406 to make arrangements if you would like a weekend delivery; otherwise, local delivery is Monday-Friday.
Free delivery – We offer free delivery to St. Clair Hospital, Sewickley Hospital and Ohio Valley Hospital and several other zipcodes. See the breakdown on the Delivery/ Shipping page or Call the office at 412-221-4406 to place your order.
Do you offer delivery outside of the continental United States?
Yes. Please contact us for shipping rates and timing.
Do you ship to PO Boxes or Military Institutions?
Yes. But Packages sent to P.O. Boxes and Military Institutions must be shipped via the US Postal Service. Please contact us for shipping prices. We do not ship to PO Boxes with UPS.
If I am shipping multiple baskets to the same recipient/ location, can I save on shipping?
Possibly. We are happy to help and will figure out the most efficient approach. If it is falls within the local delivery by BOP area, we have flexibility. Please contact us to place the order and we will work out the best plan for delivery or shipping.
Is it possible to speak with a salesperson?
Our normal business hours are M-Th 8:30am-3:30pm EST, Friday 8:30am-1:00pm; however, you can contact us anytime!These hours are extended in November and December.

Is it safe to use my credit card online?
Yes; we never send personal information, such as your credit card number, over the network in a way that is readable to anyone but us. We encrypt your information and send it over the Internet using SSL (secure socket layer) technology.
What if you are out of a product?
Unfortunately, due to weather or supplier availability, there are times where we will have to substitute, however, you will always receive a product of greater value.
What is the replacement/refund policy?
You and those who recieve your gifts must be delighted, or we’ll make it right with either an appropriate replacement or refund. Please contact us at 412-221-4406.
Where can I ship a basket with wine?
Currently, we are only licensed to hand deliver locally. We will need to check recipients ID and a signature is required.
Which credit card types are accepted?
We accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express and PayPal.

Why are there two separate charges, one for the basket from A Basket of Pittsburgh and one for the wine from Volant Mills Winery?
Due to PA Liquor Control Board regulations, wine must be purchased directly from a PA winery. Therefore, a separate charge directly from Volant Mills is necessary.
Why do you have to call me when I purchase a wine basket?
Due to PA Liquor Control Board regulations, wine can only be purchased directly from a PA winery. Therefore, we will call you to obtain your information and have the wine purchased direct.
Will I be charged sales tax?
You will be charged sales tax if the gift is being delivered within the state of Pennsylvania.
